Consideration for Bonding Santoprene®—Pliability
For effective adhesion to Santoprene® etching of the surface is necessary prior to bonding. Master Bond's pliable and toughened systems are presently employed in applications ranging from design and production to repair, maintenance and field service. Core products include EP21TDC-2, EP51FL-1 and EP37-3FLFAO. High peel strength EP21TDC-2 offers dependable resistance to thermal cycling. Cryogenically serviceable, this compound resists exposure to water, oils, hydraulic fluids, bases and salts. EP51FL-1 has a fast set up time, superb electrical insulation properties and superior strength properties. NASA low outgassing approved EP37-3FLFAO features a long working life and excellent flowability. It is capable of withstanding mechanical and thermal shocks. Serviceability is from 4K to +250°F.
