Two component, room temperature curing epoxy compound featuring superior temperature and chemical resistance
Key Features
- Easy processing
- Cures at ambient or elevated temperatures
- Convenient working life
- High viscosity with good flow
Product Description
Master Bond EP42HT-2HV1 is a room temperature curable, two component epoxy for bonding, sealing, coating and casting featuring very good chemical and temperature resistance. This higher viscosity system has an easy to use 100 to 40 mix ratio by weight or 100 to 50 by volume. It has a relatively long working life as well as lower exotherm. It cures at ambient or elevated temperatures, with the optimum being overnight at room temperature followed by 2-4 hours at 150-200°F. Upon curing, this epoxy has low shrinkage and high dimensional stability.
EP42HT-2HV1 bonds well to a wide variety of substrates, such as metals, composites, ceramics, glass and many rubbers and plastics. Its forte is its resistance to many acids, bases, solvents, fuels, oils and salts. It also has excellent electrical insulation properties. Its service temperature range is from -60°F to +450°F. The color of Part A is clear and Part B is light amber. Upon mixing, EP42HT-2HV1 has good optical clarity and light transmission properties, particularly in thinner sections. This versatile system is a viable candidate for applications in the aerospace, electronic, optical and specialty OEM industries, among others.
