Biocompatible single component solvent-free modified epoxy, urethane and acrylic compositions are USP Class VI approved or meet ISO 10993-5 cytotoxicity requirements. Products polymerize in seconds depending on the wavelength, intensity, thickness of layer and distance from the light source. They are engineered to cure on demand at ambient temperature without any oxygen inhibition. Adhesion to treated metals, glass, composites and most plastics including ABS, PVC, PMMA, polyurethane, polycarbonate, acrylic is excellent.
These medical grade UV/Visible light cure compounds are designed to increase productivity, lower labor costs/space requirements with little capital expenditure. They can be conveniently applied manually or automatically. They feature superior light transmission in thin bond lines, thermal stability, good sterilization resistance such as autoclaving, EtO, gamma, hydrogen peroxide and low shrinkage. Special grades can cure up to 1/4 inch in depth, withstand abrasion and are non-yellowing. Additionally dual cure UV and heat curable systems allow for curing in "shadowed out" areas.
